Home to New York Society for Launch of
KiptonART Salon, “A Private Entity for the Arts”
KiptonART introduces exclusive salon series to a celebrated cast of New Yorkers, featuring a special performance by classical music superstar Joshua Bell
November 24, New York, NY – KiptonART is pleased to announce the arrival of KiptonART Salon, a series of intimate soirées to celebrate and support prime talent in art,
music, and popular culture. Esteemed violinist Joshua Bell has welcomed an invitation to perform at the inaugural salon, where he will impart not only a de facto recital, but one in the privacy of his own home—a truly unprecedented event. This first salon, endorsed by David Patrick Columbia’s New York Social Diary, will be held on December 10 at 8 o’clock in the evening. KiptonART Salon is by invitation only.
Inspired by the household get-togethers of yore, KiptonART will revive the “social salon” tradition and usher it into the the contemporary age, plying leading-edge talent; a chic, international circle of patrons; and hosts (a.k.a. salonniers) ranging from society blue-bloods to Hollywood heavyweights. On the 10th, salon visitors will gather together at Mr. Bell’s New York residence for a cocktail reception, replete with champagne and fine hors d’oeuvres, followed by a recital. With soaring dynamics and painstaking dexterity, Mr. Bell will brandish his 1713 Stradivarius and regale 75 guests, same as he would at Carnegie Hall.
Last July’s music series launch with pianist Lang Lang and Men’s Vogue marked the genesis of live performance at KiptonART. In an effort to elevate the communal art form, the Salon will grant a more candid and personal experience. “The opportunity to present a musician as renowned as Joshua Bell in such close company, I must say, seems fantastic,” says Kipton Cronkite, founder and CEO of KiptonART. “An artist of his stature, who plays the greatest houses in the world, inviting a group of 75 guests to his home for a private concert, is something that comes around once in a great while.”
“Mr. Bell doesn’t stand in anyone’s shadow,” said the NY Times, and Newsweek has dubbed him “a true artist and intellectual whose music feeds both your brain and your heart.” Bell has recorded more than 30 albums, which have won multiple Grammy Awards, and received an Oscar for his performance on the soundtrack of the film The Red Violin. An international classical music superstar, Bell performs around the globe and has been seen on programs ranging from The Tonight Show to the CBS Sunday Morning, Sesame Street, Charlie Rose and many PBS specials. His Sony Classical recording of Vivaldi’s the Four Seasons is currently #1 on the Billboard Classical chart. He is also
featured on the soundtrack to the film Defiance with Daniel Craig, due out later this month.
