Having spent much of my youth on the waters; our 44ft, trawler was our second home.

Seeking adventure, my family and I would often leave our Chicago home, and journey on our vessel thru the Great Lakes toward the open seas.  This meant by way of the Trent-Severn and the St. Lawrence Seaway, ending up in the area of Nova Scotia and Maine.  Free to explore the beauty of Quebec and Montreal, we’d then continue down the coast, the home stretch, if you will, to make our crossing to the Grand Bahamas.  The Berry Islands, the Abaco, and finally our beloved Exuma, we were home!  My academics were continued thru home schooling curriculums, and my soul was fed thru this paradise my parents brought me to.
Privileged, was I, to learn the abandonment of the sea.  And I came to respect her great strengths, lessons, and gifts; I live by each day.  What choice do I have, but to honor the great sea, and give her a voice in my art?  It is here that I convey her beauty and song.  Realizing that this energy could never be bound in the restriction of a frame, I had to create a canvas that would best support her stories that deserved to be told.  A format that would release it’s energy; creating empowerment for the viewer, thus experiencing instant understanding, courage, and peace.  What I create, I create not only with a purpose…
But I create ON PURPOSE
“I believe ART is the perfect vehicle to help bring our society, as a whole, into a higher consciousness, and to vibrate on a higher, more peaceful level. Panther’s pursuit has not been an easy one, as it had ultimately taken her over a decade to masterfully design and produce an Artistic Interpretation of a Rock to encase her charcoal renderings to transport one on a Journey of Old and New in a moments vibration to understanding.  She says:“This work is the Deconstruction of Old World Frescos, into two and three dimensional New World Interpretation, that enables a more complete story to be told. ”Each ‘ROCK’ is individually handcrafted, and then formed by applying, sanding, and sculpting multiple layers of plaster, complex compounds, and lightweight materials, to create the desired depth and texture.  I have developed this Art Form, to allow the Energy of my paintings to continue and expand…filling the viewer with the same sense of empowerment and possibility, that I felt when the work was first being created. ” And so, her multi media quest persists, as she has now found fulfillment in painting on CANVASES OF WOOD, that she builds, and seals in a HIGH GLOSS RESIN.  This turn in her work, shows great insight in her ability to tap into the lifeline of inspiration to enable an Artist to generate for us The New! In her abstracts, One feels the pull into the layered dimensions of the worlds she has mindfully traveled, with the intent of invitation she is offering for us to embark.  Quite often in these segments, she will expertly blend the call to her Realism Roots of the Masters, bringing this work to uncharted levels to appreciate her charcoals transparently depicted in this Excitingly New and Fresh Platform.
