When it comes to formal education for artistic studies, I suppose you could call me a Heinz 57. I have taken classes in different discipline throughout my life and have finally found my voice in the unusual form of encaustic painting. Encaustics is a blend of heated beeswax, tree resin and color pigmentation. The process requires that you and the heated wax work together, develop a cohesive rhythm, coming to a mutual agreement on what will be the finished design. This of course makes each piece one of a kind, and, like a fine wine, the unique undertones and the richness of color that encaustics produces, is only enhanced over time.
