In 2002, I began expressing myself with oil pastels after moving to a small rural community. I was frustrated with the drastic change in lifestyle and turned to art as a release. I found myself in an outpouring of intense color and unusual shapes.
My distinct, vibrant style and sense of design keeps the eye in constant motion. I like to combine floral elements and the female form, with a twist of whimsy. The painting is not finished, until I have outlined it in black. It is at this moment the painting comes to life.
I am strongly influenced by my former city life and current rural surroundings, as well as my passion for children's artwork. I enjoy interacting with the viewer and hope my zest for life and sense of humor is captured.
