I am proud to introduce a new collection of paintings, which are both vibrant and bold in color, inspired by what I call “maximalism”. I don’t limit myself in my work it has few boundaries and as a result, captures a personal sense of liberation. My objective is to ensure that the entire process is spontaneous and free from selfimposed rules. Each piece is born from raw emotion combined with evolving images from my sub-consciousness. For me, the greatest reward comes when others form a personal connection with my paintings and feel inspired or simply excited as a result. Painting is my way to express the creative flow that I believe we all posses, which allows each of us to communicate in our own unique way.
Lana Gomez has always had a love for the artistic process, which has evolved throughout her life. She is a truth seeker, never settling for less, or taking no for an answer. The freedom and heart that comes through her paintings reflects the boundless, yet kind rebel that Lana is. Shortly after graduating from the University of Tennessee with a BA in Studio Art, she moved to Los Angeles where she continued to experiment with acrylics and emulsions. Her work caught the eye of famed interior designer Kelly Wearstler, and lead to many fruitful collaborations. Lana was the resident painter at Kelly’s design studio from 2008-2009. During this time Wearstler commissioned her to do a mural-sized piece for her office, which was ultimately featured in the designers latest book, Hue. Since then, Lana’s career has blossomed and her work has been featured in major publications including InStyle, The New Yorker and Lonny magazine.
