Joslyn Beta Lawrence was born in 1970 in Madison, Wisconsin. Lawrence studied painting and photography at the Kansas City Art Institute and the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Her work reveals both the geographical and emotional landscape where she resides. Lawrence uses both photography as a collage element and shoots painterly images with the camera. Recently she has focused on natural landscapes with a manmade component, exploring the experience of the disappearing environment, and how things made by man out of natural materials, sometimes get taken back by the elements.
Brian Kuhlmann was born in 1965 in St. Louis, Missouri. Kuhlmann's fine art photography reflects the same passion he has brought to his commercial work for 25 years. Attracted to energy and movement, kuhlmann strives to capture a moment that tells a story and create images that evoke an emotional response. A self-taught photographer, kuhlmann is continually stretching the boundaries of his craft. For example, in his most recent series, a collaboration with painter Joslyn Beta Lawrence, Kuhlmann put aside traditional elements to create a body of work with an ethereal and painterly feel.
