Greg Holliday possesses a natural and inherited talent that has developed over time. His use of color and emotion is visible in each work. Greg is the kind of artist who refuses to fit into a category or be put in a box. He works in acrylics, oils and wax as well as other media on canvas, paper and panel. He enjoys painting on large canvases where his work displays remarkable depth and antiquity.
Influenced by the works of Rothko; DeKooning; Kline and Pollock, Holliday enjoys working with a multitude of color and his works are characterized by an attention to detail, shape, color and balance. At times, paint can be seen running upward across the surface; this is because this artist often inverts a picture while working on it...sometimes changing the final orientation.
Holliday often leaves his work untitled as to not obscure the imagination of the viewer. He believes art is personal for everyone. Holliday lives in Atlanta, GA.
