Aunde studied art throughout her schooling. She explored photography while pursuing her degree in audio and video production. Her early experience was spent trying to capture the essence of performances through live sound, video and photographs in very small and dark bars. It was through these experiences she grew to love the challenge of working outside the controlled studio environments.
Years and careers later Aunde was inspired to reconnect with the camera through her work with healing plants. Each photograph is an attempt to illuminate the plant spirt or deva. Every plant is photographed with the natural, extant light, without a tripod, in an effort to showcase the wild beauty of the fully living being. She believes that the divinity and sensuality of the flowers is best portrayed without posing the flower under studio lights, as a model or specimen, and that windy days can bring the most glorious surprises.
