George Gavin Zeigler grew up in Franklin, Tennessee, a small farming town in the outskirts of Nashville, where he began his training under the direction of the late Bunn Gray. In 1982 he won a scholarship to Atlanta College of Art, later finishing his degree at Fordham University in New York City. Zeigler went on to acquire a certificate in Graphic Arts from Pratt Institute in New York City. In 2007 he attended a three month extensive workshop in wood working at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport Maine. Last year he had a one man show at the Hampton Road Gallery / Peter Marcelle Contemporary in Southampton, NY and had a bronze sculpture, "Angular Presence" acquired by the Telfair Museum in Savannah, Georgia for their permanent collection. Zeigler's work can also be seen in the lobby of the W Hotel in San Diego, CA, Race Lane in East Hampton, NY and many other venues. Zeigler works out of his studio in Shelter Island, NY.
