This is a photo from my series "Beach Closed", an early body of work that explores a closed section of Rockaway Beach, Queens, NYC. At this time, I was exploring death, absence, decay, neglect, and the beauty within those. However, though I still explore those ideas and themes, I have moved on to large format, staged, color photography.
